Blackout at the Grammys!

Slicksno.com - BeyonceNo not the power-failure kind, but the hip hop kind.

Broadcast live from Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, the 46th Annual awards show began at 4:55, with a 5-minute delay, of course, with an explosive performance by Prince and Beyonce,
glamorously clad in a tight, short dress with a feather skirt. B was the the top standout at the relatively low key Grammy awards.

Beyonce won 5 awards tying the likes of Lauryn Hill, Nora Jones, and Alicia Keys for the most Grammys won by a female artist. She took home best R&B song, best rap/sung collaboration with boyfriend, Jay-Z, best female R&B performance, best contemporary R&B album for “Dangerously in Love” and best R&B performance by a duo or group for her and Luther Vandross’ rendition of “The Closer I Get To You”. “This is unbelievable. Performing was enough for me,” stated an ecstatic Beyonce.

Outkast also cleaned up this year. The group, clad in their infamous attire, won three of their six nominations: best album, best urban/alternative performance for “Hey Ya!” and best rap album for “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below,” making it a first time that a rap album won the top categories.

Performers included Beyonce and Prince, Alicia Keys, Outkast, Sean Paul and Sting, Black Eyed Peas, Earth, Wind, and Fire and the funk master himself, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.
