It’s Gettin Hot In Here…

I may be a little late on this (not suprising), have you heard of the “Stop Hot 97” campaign by R.E.A.C.Hip-Hop. Apparently this organization has been around for a while and was already targeting Hot 97 for other issues, but things came to a head with the airing of the “Tsunami Song” on the New York radio station. R.E.A.C.Hip-Hop is calling for a serious list of demands from the station and it’s parent company Emmis Communications.

They are really going after Hot 97, R.E.A.C.Hip-Hop recently had a town hall meeting about this campaign up in NYC. I couldn’t find anything on their website with any details, so if you attended or have any more info let me know.

Speaking of Hot 97, everyone is still talking about GAME’s performance at the Hot 97 Summer Jam and the whole G-Unot thing. If you haven’t heard about it, here is a quick overview:

*GAME yells G-Unot throughout his entire set
*He threatens to knock out G-Unit members Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks
*Calls 50 Cent a rat and proceeds to beatdown a rat mascot on stage
*Throws his G-Unit medallion into the crowd
*GAME claims while on stage, that 50 Cent can’t be the King of New York cuz he lives in Conneticut

If you need more info check out JSmooth’s post on his blog. He covers it pretty well, I am not gonna waste any more space on it here.

I just want to ask, does anyone think this is all a publicity stunt, is it real, do you even give a sh*t?

I might have to take the last one on that….
