It is known throughout the streets of New York that the NYPD has a unit which focuses on hip hop related crimes and is resposible for several high profile arrests. Though the existence of this division is denied by the NYPD, they are the focus of a new movie titled “Hip-Hop Cops.”

The script is being developed by writer Eric Eason who is currently engaged in investigative work trying to uncover more info about the “NYPD Rap Patrol.” The new film is being produced by Radar Pictures, which is headed up by Ted Fields, one of the founders of Interscope Records.

A release date has not been announced.
