Slicksno.com - TurkDavid Chang, the creator of Ghettopoly, is suing Hasbro, the makers of Monopoly.

Hasbro, which makes Monopoly, filed their lawsuit to stop the sales of Ghettopoly, claiming trademark and copyright infringement. Chang says the game is a parody of Hip-Hop culture and that at least 100 other games end in “opoly.”

As a result of Hasbro’s cease-and-desist order, Chang said he’s been stopped from selling the game before it can go to court, due to a cease-and-desist letter that Hasbro sent to Urban Outfitters, who agreed to carry the controversial board game. Chang is claiming that he has penalized before it has been determined that his game infringed on anything.

Almost 1,000 Ghettopoly games are in a warehouse and any new stock is confiscated by US Customs and Border Protection agents.

Ghettopoly features such game pieces as a 40 oz, a hoe and pimp, counterfeit money, a basketball and crack.

Users must buy stolen property, build crack houses and pay protection fees.

Andre 3000 recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he would like to study classical music. During an interview with the eccentric rapper he said, “I want to go to Julliard to study classical music. I’ve been thinking about it for about a year. But things got kinda busy. This record took off. I can’t be in school right now. But I’m taking saxophone and clarinet lessons. I’d study classical composition and music theory. Like, now, I was working on songs for Gwen Stefani’s album, and I could tell her how to sing them but not the range.”

Next up for OutKast is the release of a new single, “Roses.” The group will also begin production on a movie in May for HBO.
