Snippets: Nas not assaulted | Benzino targets 50 Cent, The Roots, Outkast | 50 Cent on Gays | Chuck D on liberal radio | Ludacris gets starring role | Juvenile’s gold status

Slicksno.com - R. KellyThere were rumors floating around this week that Queensbridge rapper Nas was assaulted while in Cincinnati. The official word is that they are false, according to Nas’ camp.

A radio station in Washington, D.C. reported that Nas was assaulted and robbed in Cincinnati, Ohio and was in the hospital recovering. Supposedly the story originated from the Cincinnati Herald, but they have no record of the story.

Benzino is at it again this time taking aim at 50 Cent, The Roots, and Outkast.

In a new single called I’ma Killa, Zino talks about 50′s association with Eminem, how The Roots backed up Em at the Grammys last, and Outkast switching out.

In an interview with Playboy, 50 Cent talks about his feelings on homosexuals. “I ain’t into faggots, I don’t like gay people around me, because I’m not comfortable with what their thoughts are,” 50 said. “I’m not prejudiced. I just don’t go with gay people and kick it – we don’t have that much in common. I’d rather hang out with a straight dude.”

In the interview 50 did admit that lesbians were cool, he then added, “It’s OK to write that I’m prejudiced. This is as honest as I could possibly be with you. When people become celebrities they change the way they speak. But my conversation with you is exactly the way I would have a conversation on the street. We refer to gay people as faggots, as homos. It could be disrespectful, but that’s the facts.”

Chuck D. will host his own talk radio show titled “Unfiltered” that will be featured on upstart liberal radio network Air America Radio.

Chuck will be joined on air by co-hosts Lizz Winstead and Laura Flanders.

”Unfiltered”, which will be broadcast during the midmorning, from 9:00am-12:00pm, will showcase conversation about the political and cultural state of the union.

The network will launch on various radio stations in four different markets across the United States on March 31.

Ludacris has landed the starring role in “American Radio,” a movie about an urban radio team.

Although Ludy got his start in the music biz on Atlanta’s 97.5 radio station, this movie is not based on or about his real life.

The plot of the film centers around a “Hip-Hop Intellectual” and DJ named Kwame, played by Ludacris, who hosts a hot L.A. morning radio show.

”American Radio” is set to start shooting in May in Los Angeles.

Juvenile’s fifth solo album Juve The Great recently struck gold for the boys at Cash Money Records.

The album dropped in December 2003 and is currently #12 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
