Slicksno.com - TurkDr. Cornel West, the Princeton professor that released the critically acclaimed Hip-Hop album “Sketches Of My Culture,” is finishing production on his follow-up, “Street Knowledge.” The double CD chronicles the black experience in America from the days of slavery’s Middle Passage up to today’s Hip-Hop culture.

The album features guest appearances by Killer Mike, Tavis Smiley, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Chuckii Booker and others.

“Street Knoledge” hits stores in June.


The legendary Roots have just finished their new joint, The Tipping Point, and plan to release it this June.

“The Tipping Point is the sum of our 6 records and our 12 years as a band. Most of our album titles are chosen to reflect on the mood of where the group is and we feel as though this album is our biggest step,” Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson said in a statement.

Guest appearances on the album include Jean Grae, Martin Luther, Devin The Dude, Captain Kirk Douglas and Dave Chappelle with outside production from Scott Storch. The crew is already filming a video for the Storch produced “Don’t Say Nuthin.”

The Roots’ Tipping Point is scheduled to hit stores on June 29.


Nas’ 10 Year Anniversary Illmatic Platinum Series album and Video Anthology Vol. 1 DVD drops in stores today. The QB legend is in the studio working on his new double album Street’s Disciple which hits stores summer of 2004.

Cash Money’s Juvenile is branching out and teaming up with Rap-A-Lot CEO James Prince in a new joint venture to release new artists.

In addition to producing a number of songs on his latest album Juve The Great, Juve says that he wants to work with new artists as an entrepreneur.

Under the deal, the two will release new music from several new artists including, Skip and Wacko, and a new group called Partners N Crime.

Juvenile will continue to tour and support Juve The Great, which dropped on Cash Money/Universal.


Following the recent internet leak of The Beautiful Struggle, Talib Kweli announced he would be dropping a mixtape early this spring.

The usual suspects like Common, Kanye West and Black Thought are among the mixed CD’s supporting cast, the project will also feature a slew of eye opening cameos from artists such as, 106 & Park’s Free, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Styles P and G-Unit’s The Game.
