Wyclef, Rah Digga, Black Moon, Tony Touch, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Nice N’ Smooth and others performed during the four day event, which took place June 16-19 in Newark, NJ.

The convention strives to set a political agenda for the Hip-Hop community.

The Outlawz are still ironing out details of a deal with Cash Money Records and have not officially joined the Cash Money roster.

“Honestly, this thing has leaked too early. The deal isn’t done yet,” E.D.I. told

Jay-Z will be awarded the Golden Note award at ASCAP’s 17th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards later this month.

Awards will be presented to songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most played R&B/Hip-Hop and Reggae songs. Other winners include Funk and R&B legend Rick James, who will be honored with ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award.

ASCAP’s 17th annual Rhythm And Soul Music Awards takes place at Beverly Hills’ Beverly Hilton Hotel on June 28.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s Bizzy Bone is set to host Freshout, a new reality series pilot that follows aspiring rap artists at the GigAmerica Urban Music Conference showcase, reports

After a two-year hiatus, LL Cool J is returning to drop his 11th album entitled The DEFinition.

The first single of the album is titled Headshot and features production from VA’s own Timbaland.

LL Cool J’s THE DEFinition is scheduled to hit stores August 13th.
