The Isley’s New Hip Hop Remixes

Slicksno.com - The Isley BrothersThe Isley Brothers will continue there penetration into the world of Hip-Hop music by enlisting some of the best known artists and producers to remix 10 of their classic songs.

Artists such as Mos Def, will.i.am, Ahmir “?uest Love” Thompson, De La Soul, Raphael Saadiq and others have signed on to contribute to the disc, titled The Isley Brothers – Taken To The Next Phase (Reconstructions).

The album will take listeners through several generations of the Isley’s music with such classic songs as “Harvest for the World,” “Summer Breeze,” “That Lady (Part 1 & 2)” and seven other popular songs.

The Isley Brothers started their magnificent career in 1956, but did not land a major hit until 1961′s massive hit “Shout,” which was recorded for RCA.

The Isley’s made it into pop music history when they recorded “Twist and Shout,” a hit that has been covered by numerous acts, including The Beatles.

Soon after in 1964 the Isley’s launched their T-Neck record label and recorded “Testify Part 1 & 2″ featuring the then unknown Jimi Hendrix on guitar.

In the late 90′s Ronald Isley re-introduced himself to a new audience, via his collaborations with R. Kelly as “Mr. Biggs.”

Then in 1999, the brothers inked a deal with The Pullman Group, selling all future royalty earnings for an eight figure check, while still retaining ownership of their music.
